ROCC - Reach Our Community Campaign
In September 2007, we launched our very first FAITH in ACTION Project. On that Sunday, over 150 people from this congregation gathered after our morning worship to do acts of service in our community. In November 2007, over 70 people gathered to put their faith in action by providing a meal and outdoor worship service on the corner of Clay and Fourth Streets. Our Men’s Ministry led this event which also provided clothing for the homeless. In April 2008, we did door-to-door outreaches in Lyndon that yielded commitments to Christ.
Jesus has called us to reach out and make disciples. This summer Trinity Chapel will take yet another bold step in our journey to be all that Christ has called us to be in our community. We are taking FAITH in ACTION to a new level and we are going to need your help to make it happen.
Here is the plan of action for this summer: We are going to establish 3-4 Evangelism Cells in different locations in the Lyndon and St. Matthews area. These evangelism cells will meet each Sunday afternoon following our morning worship service at the same designated location. The goal of these cells will be to connect with the people of our neighborhood and share Christ with the lost. They will meet for about two hours and will provide a Bible study and community connection activities. These cells will consist of 5-8 people. Target Cells will also be formed. These will vary in size based on their specific task. The Target Cells will specialize in specific ministry needs, including both felt and spiritual needs and will move between eCell locations each week. Three or four of these groups will be needed. One Resource Cell will also be formed. This cell will aid in both delivering and retrieving resources to/from the eCells on a weekly basis. They will keep inventory and be in regular contact with teams. You can learn more about this summer Reach Our City Campaign by attending planning and prayer meetings on Wednesday, May 7, at 7:00 pm and Sunday, May 18, at 1:30 pm. Please prayerfully consider getting involved. The summer Reach Our City Campaign will be held outdoors on every fair-weather Sunday between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with the exception of 4th of July weekend (July 6).
